Walking,
Cycling and Driving through the Pyrenees
The Ariège area of the Pyrenees is crisscrossed by many historic pilgrimage and smugglers
footpaths with refuges along the way. Some of Frances most famous footpaths go
through Montségur and its environments.
The Ariège being one of the least populated areas of France and dominated by nature, this
is the perfect place to go horseriding.
The Tour de France regularly goes through the Ariège and the area is ideal for mountain
biking.
There is a multitude of scenic round drives with panoramic views through beautiful
mountain villages, forests, over mountain passes and through gorges.
