grotte de Lombrives
near Ussat-les-Bains - The cave of Lombrives has a hall as large as the cathedral
Notre Dame de Paris. It is the biggest cave in Europe open to the public often
called the Fifth Wonder of the World. There is a choice of 25 different types of guided
visits lasting between 1h30 and 5 hours. In the summer season, concerts are held in the
cave. |

Grotte de Niaux - this is a must for all
admirers of cave paintings, the paintings date from 11,000 BC, the Magdalenian period. You
can also walk along a subterranean river bed. This is a listed site in a very beautiful
location near Tarascon. |
